    Default GOLDEN LIGHT CARACAL

    Attached Images Attached Images

A rare sight, two Caracals playing in morning light & no 4wds in sight so they were very relaxed, this is the big brother pouncing towards his sister in the corner of the frame, this is what i have waited years to witness, they are truly beautifull cats.

Ken, I'd be pretty happy with this image as well. What a fantastic sighting. Where did you see them?

Just to prove a point, I like this, but I would remove the OOF sibling as I think it does not add much to the image, and I would have had no idea what it was if you had not told us.

If the head was a little more "look up" you would have an even better image.

Hi Ken, a great experience and I like the POV on this one.

Love the golden light, the expected pounce and the whole drama/content all works well, producing an excellent image.

Beautiful side lighting, colour, detail and head on action here Ken, undecided on the OOF sibling though.
    Very, very nice.

Hi Mark, i have a image without the sibling & is not sharp enough, although i could crop this one the sibling is my favorite part of the image as the pounce has no meaning with out it, i like the fact that it dosn't stand out to much & viewers get a suprise when they see it!!

Cheers BTW i won't tell you what morning this was!!

Really like the pounce and the warm lighting. Nice low angle as well.

I think I'll have to delete my caracal image now!! awesome light, POV and interaction Ken...
I don't mind the OOF one. Only problem with this is that I wasn't there to enjoy the sighting as well :)

    Ken,

A wonderful, remarkable image that makes me dream of getting a Missouri bobcat shot even half as good. Inspiration!

Thank you Ken, I will start visualising a caracal sighting for myself for January and I'd be happy with something half as interesting as this, even a scruffy hungry one would do (sorry Morkel, only kidding! :D ). I'll drive up and down the rhino ridge area hopefully!! :o

This is a wonderful image. I really like the light on the cat's right ear tuft.

Outstanding image Ken. Can go either way with the oof sibling. Can't really add much to what has been said above. Very well done.

Well deserved sighting Ken. Such an elusive and beautiful cat.

No way can you crop out the sibling. Loses too much wildlife interest if you do that. If you want to crop then just crop tighter around the main caracal which focuses more attention on where it is looking (i.e. at its sibling).

Super mid-air pose. Great shot. Fabulous animals.
