I now see why folks return to Bosque del Apache year after year. It is a source of a gazillion :) kinds of photos! I used Topaz Clean on this silhouetted crane in the golden light of sunset. Taken at the crane pools.

Awesome image Nancy! I love the yellow/orange/reds of this - they are so saturated but not overdone. It really has impact!

Two suggestions for you...first, might see what you think about sharpening up the outer edges of the bird while keeping everything else loose and soft. There's something about a silhouette that screams sharp, clean lines to me and that tends to draw the viewer's eye to it and hold it there a little longer.

Next, I also think you could go with this in more of a pano crop if you wanted, taking a small slice off the bottom and almost half off the top. Just something to think about...

Again, really gorgeous image as presented!

Beautiful light and look Nancy. Jules makes some good suggestions. I like the effect of the filter-something different for a silhouette.:)

Very nice, Nancy. I like how the smooth, simplifying look that the topaz gave. Agree with Jules suggestions. Lovely colors, though I might brighten it up a bit to give it a bit more punch.

Nancy, yes! The repost is super. I love the colors and textures. I have only been to Bosque once, but I am determined to return next year!

    Hey Nancy,
Great suggestions above and the repost is fantastic! May go a touch lower off top (mostly eliminating any brownish/darker area....but that's minor to a very well seen and done image!!!
