It was sunny and calm this morning, giving me an opportunity to catch this Great Blue Heron looking at himself and making a smooth, clear reflection. Cropped and amended somewhat in LR3 and Elements. The whites show up OK on my histogram, by the way.

The reflection is nice but the image needs a serious CW rotation, more room at top and the whites in the head appear to be blown. Must have been tough shooting conditions... JR

Agree with JR. Additionally, I also think a little room to the left is needed so that that part is not clipped. Or crop to exclude it completely to create a 8 X 10 kinda aspect ratio.

Terrific light, reflection, pose and HA. Very well seen.

Fantastic light! I would prefer slightly more space around the bird and would tone down the brightness a tiny bit

Here is a re-post incorporating most of the critical suggestions. I had no space top and bottom in the original, so I cloned additional space there -- and made the image 11X14.
I also toned down the "top image" and burned the whites around the head a bit. Am I getting closer?
