    Default Dolphin Gull

This image of a Dolphin Gull was captured on 8 November 2005 in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. This species is endemic to southern Patagonia and the Falkland Islands. They are scavengers and can often be found on the wharf, waiting for scraps of food, like this one is. There seems to have been a little loss in saturation in the posted image compared to the original.

    Nikon D70, 70-200 mm F2.8 VR AF-S @ 200mm, 1/1000s, F6.3. Slight crop.

What an interesting gull.....beautiful colors and wonderful details on the head. Some of the rope behind the gull has blown out whites which I would definitely tone down.
