Great image! Like the color and you even got eye contact from such small prey!

Jeez, I was rooting for the vole.:o

Yes, great series of images and this one tops it off well.

Gen, I would recommend knocking down saturation a tad. Also look to recover details in the white on the face.

The vole almost seems like it is looking to you for help--great details. What a fantastic series of images. Agree with Robert's comments.

Gen - I also agree with Robert's comments. Thanks for sharing this great series. In real time, how long did the sequence from the first frame to the last take?

Thanks everyone for all your input, I appreciate all the help, suggestions and honest critiques it makes me want to be a better photographer.
In answer to Rachel question it actually played out for almost 10 minutes. That little vole was fearless and desperately wanted to live. It escaped the fox's grip many times and ran away only to be caught again at one point in trying to escape it practically ran over my foot as did the fox. I so wanted to intervene and help the little guy get away but the fox has to eat and that is nature.
    Thanks again

Gen, What a great series. Beautiful lighting. I agree you could probably get some more detail out of the whites on the face. I was rooting for the vole also! Well done and thanks for sharing these wonderful images.
