This is from the Camera with some selective post processing sharpening. The egret is rising from the water at Merritt Island just before sunrise, I believe an other egret's wing was in front Nikon D3s, 500f4 with 1.7 tc on tripod, flash with better beamer at -1 1/3 1/60 sec f 6.7 1600 ISO

I'm not sure about this one, Myer. I like the overall feel of the image, but I find the large bright area in the bottom center a bit distracting and I wish the highlights on the bird weren't blown out. I also think it would be better if the bird wasn't cut off.

Something different for sure. I might tone down the bird if possible and take a small slice off the bottom. It is neat that you captured this in-camera. :)

Pretty wild that this was done in camera Myer! I do agree with the comments regarding the bottom brightness. Like Christopher, I too wish for the wings to be in. I've seen this method done in landscapes and macro.....but never for birds so this is very unusual for sure!

I would have love the bird not to have its wings cut off but it is what I obtained and thought it was interesting. Will work later on the toning down etc

Myer, it does have an angel like appearance to it. Agree with the brightness comments.
