    Default Leaf's turn

    Hi Folks:

Thought I should give the leaf it's turn in the Zpotlight too . . . Zo here it is, done in Free Fotosketch, then original leaf over the painted on, Fotosketcher wants to put a black line around the subject, so I used the original leaf in all its glory :)

    Comments and redos always welcome

    Gus

Here's the original with stem cut, which I prefer with OP BG.

Gus, I like the first one and the last one. I might try a long vertical for a comp to see how it looks. The painterly look to the BG is lovely.

I agree with Denise. Love both the first and last versions. Lovely BG and great comp. :)

Thanks guys for your kind comments. Denise, never thought about a vertical. Will have a look at one.

Read an article in Photoshop User tonight about making an object looking like it's in the water, instead of floating above it. First you paint some water sloppy up the object a bit, then you make a reflection by inverting etc. It's a little long, but I'll give it a go when we get caught up on Gina's leg.

    Best regards

    Gus

I'm also for the vertical - or a more squarish horizontal. My eye goes to the right and keeps on going...

That is by far the winner, Gus! You did a great job on this one! Before I felt the leaf was unattached to the rest of the image...now it has a place to rest and really becomes the focal point. Outstanding!

    Hey Gus,
I liked the one without the stem and with the OP BG....and as usual......love the vert idea too! The last one though.....is the winner IMO....very cool effect and the colors rock!!!
