Excellent weather today but hardly any birds flying my favorite routes :(
I guess its just the way it goes sometimes. Here is a female Bufflehead from a few weeks
    back.

The only nit that I have is that I'd darken the bird just a little bit. It looks paler than the bird does in real life. The image is stunning.

James, this is a killer shot IMO. Not an easy species to get in flight. It could use another round of sharpening IMO.

Repost is a definite improvement. Congratulations on another exciting shot. You seem to consistently shoot your flying waterfowl at ISO 800, and I don't see any problems with noise.

    Jim,

The repost of the butter pat in flight is awesome. I sure wish I had regular "flight routes" to go to. Nice.

Much improved after the added sharpening! Great wing position and eye contact. The white patch on the head is nicely exposed. Love the smooth water BG.

Agree with the repost being much better. Wonder if it could take another round of sharpening though... And that's just comparing it to your other images... The single drop just past the downward stroke of the wing is cute. JR

Great repost James, and I like the flying posture with the downstroke of the wings. Good overall detail captured too.
