    This was taken last winter in my backyard. I did a motion blur on the snow. Otherwise normal processing............I tried a number of motion blur attempts on the bird, but I liked the original best.

    Nikon D3s
    400mm
    1/8000 @f/5.6
    ISO 1600

    Wheeee! Looks like he's having fun! :) Love the contrast of red against white. A slight head turn toward the camera would have been nice. Well done, Jay.

    Jay, I love the image design and the motion blur added some fun to the image. I might desaturate the reds just a hair or add some cyan to the reds by way of selective color if it were mine. But this is OOTB and the flaming red does add a bit of whimsy to the image so either way:)

    This really made me smile! Love the bright red against the snow. These birds make me love winter!

    Hey Jay,
    Agree with above suggestions......and for me a bit more room behind the cardinal. That being said.....the contrast of colors is great and a real eye catcher!
