This photo of a Ground Hornbill gather a lunch packet for the family, they are plastered & closed in a hole in a tree and dad has to provide, a very varied menu, a snake, 2 scorpions, a geko, and a frog, just for interest, taken by my grandson Vincent, Canon 400D 100 -400 mm lens. iso 400. regards
What a terrific photo illustrating a bit of the hornbill diet! And they certainly have elegant eyelashes. However I believe the Ground Hornbills do not nest in trees or seal in their mates.
What an efficient predator this hornbill is. The head angle may not be perfect, but the shot surely tells an interesting story. Congratulations to your grandson.
I think that from a "scientific' perspective this image may gather a lot of interest but the (head) angle, background, exposure etc. don't do a lot for me from an aesthetic perspective. Yet this may make it into National Geographic or similar... And the eye lashes are just too cute.
