These are beauties, nice to see one on a more normal perch, these birds with long tails certainly do not make it easy. The light looks a little harsh, can you post your EXIF details?
I might consider cleaning up whatever it is below the bill.
The comp suits the pose and long tail, although placed a tad central, I would take a bit off the right. I would maybe tone the perch down a tad, and run another round of NR on the BG.
Hi Jan, the bird looks pretty good to me, sharp, catchlight, lots of detail and well exposed. Also like the green BG. I would perhaps darken the branch slightly, and maybe give a little more space on each side of the bird just to see how it looks as i find the very long vertical crop a bit unusual to look at though I understand why you did it..
I've never seen one of these......looks like a huge hummingbird; very beautiful. Good job on the composition and helpful suggestions above. The image has a little more contrast than I like, probably because of harsh light. Thanks for sharing a new species with me.
Awesome bird and BG (which needs a bit of NR). The pose is perfect and I love the perch. I like the idea of darkening said perch, and if you have it I would add back some canvad at left as I find the main trunk of the perch rather close to the edge and would like to see more of the forking-out part. Great stuff!
Hi Jan, good image of this species, good HA and I like the way the tail feathers have spread, well captured. I agree with Danny re the contrast being a little strong and would tone down the bright perch a little.
