Nice pose, exposure, and composition. I like the simple perch and BG. Well done!

Joerg, I like the markings and colours, and posed against a complimentary BG. At your distance of 13.5m, I feel you would have to had stopped down even more to cover the full DOF.

Good Photoshop work, pretty bird, perfect BG. The bird very much dominates the frame and on my monitor is approaching or perhaps even exceeding larger-than-life size. Don't know how much time you had with the blackbird, but had I the time I'd have had no qualms about upping the ISO, narrowing the aperture, and trying to get the entire bird in sharp focus. Easier said than done, I know.

    Joerg,

Nice image with the hen blackbird in a great look-back pose that shows the wing detail. I'm always sensitive to too much contrast in an image but this one seems to need a bit more. The blacks are a little washed out. Nice, sharp view of the face and a unique perch. Thanks.

Nice comp, colours and warm tones, and HA! Blacks look OK from here, and although a bit more DOF wouldn't hurt I'm OK with that too. I wouldn't mind the subject a bit smaller in the frame.

Joerg, I like the complimentary BG, the simple perch and the DOF looks fine to me. Well done.
