    Default Pied-billed Grebe

Found this Grebe at Wakodahatchee sitting in light with the water in shadow.

7D, 500 f/4 + 1.4TC, 1/5000 at f/5.6, Manual Mode, Spot Metered ( I was set up for flight photography thus the reason for manual and exposure was set off white clouds at +2 since the Grebe was in the same light he was exposed perfectly) ISO 800, Tripod, Cropped

Beautiful. Elegant. Dramatic lighting. Loverly composition. Sharp. Cool pose with the fluffed up side. I guess I like it :)

I like it too, very moody lighting...cool! I would, however, eliminate the blue streak coming out of the grebe's forehead and try to tone down the bright reflection along the top of the bill. I love the partial yellow eye ring!

Very dramatic! In addition to the above comments, I really like the depth that the reflection adds.

Absolutely love the dramatic lighting. Agree with Dan re the blue reflection in front of the head. JR
