    Default Being Watched

Since there have been a bunch of mammals I thought I would post a pic of something cold blooded. I was in South Carolina trying to get some decent shots of herons, mergansors, Ibis, etc. -- one of the first days I noticed that I was being watched. Let's just say that was my last day of trying to get real low and close to water level! This guy was about 6 feet long or so. Spooky...

I like the diagonal. And the BKGR. I could do without the two leaves.

Removed big blue/cyan cast from the gator and the one leaf. Made the BLACKS blacker, sharpened the gator and ???

The thumbnail drew me in but then the blue put me off.

Arties re post helps a lot but the croc still seems to me to lack detail in the skin.

Artie -- thanks for playing around with it. I'm not a fan of the leaves either but I was not in any position to try and remove them.:)

The color is as it appeared that day. The slate/green color of the gator combined with the refection of the sky on the wet skin. And the original (and this post on my monitor) appears to have all the detail that was there, with the exception of the tip of the snout which was oof a tad.

YAW Mike. Do understand that shaded subjects will often have a bue/cyan cast. This one certainly did. I think by lightening it a bit too much it may appear that we have lost some detail; the original appears to have more detail.

Mike - nice to see something a little different. I prefer Artie's repost.

I'll play around with it a bit more, as well as look at few other shots taken at the same time to see what I come up with. He was wasn't in a shaded area, although it was an somewhat cloudy day. Might be another with a bit better light...Thanks again.

Like the simplicity of the image. Like the repost the blue cast removed.
