Shot taken last winter during one of the many snows............I was trying for a different snowing effect, using Topaz simplify then define in a reduced opacity...............final version included surface smoothing.............may try a blur later.

Love the translucent wings. For some reason, my brain thinks this cardinal is swimming through the water on a sandy beach bottom.

Jay, Sometimes there is nothing like the real thing. Beautiful original image and something to be proud of. I love the wings.:)

I too like the in the box original very much :) Part of the problem with the Pane 1 image is that the bird looks cut out (especially the back).

    Thanks for the feedback everyone...........

    Artie,

I now see the cut out "look". Rush job on my part :). In this case, maybe I just shouldn't fool around with mother nature, when she offers up something nice.

Jay, I agree with everyone else...the original capture is just beautiful. Love the pose you captured with all the wing feathers fanned out. I like the idea of the first posting, but the cardinal looks a bit too smooth and without detail.
