    Default Duck on Thin Ice

This is another image from last January when the lake froze over. This is my closest encounter with a ring-necked duck as it was not far from the bank. It was slipping and sliding on the ice which was very thin and water was coming up through it. I used Topaz Clean on the duck and then I used 2 textures and framing from PhotoFrame.

I really liked this version also so am posting it too. It has a different 2nd texture over it and no edge.

Wonderful! I prefer the first image. The water creates a nice circle for the duck to stand in, the ice explains the awkwardly cute pose, the textures are just right, as is the frame. Well done.

Thanks Anita! I like the first one better too but the 2nd one was "for fun".

Awwwe. I just love this duck - such a cute pose. Composition is just right with all of the circle showing. I can't decide which I like best. I loved the original and when I looked at the second, I thought, I like it, but not so much as the first. But when I look back and forth, I'm drawn to the nice goldish color in the background of the second. But, I really like the simpler look of the first and the frame effect... So, I like both!

Wow! A duck with an attitude, a natural born poser. Both versions are very artistic and I would have to declare a tie . . . Well done, Judy!

Judy, Both are special. I like the natural border that is on the first one and the snowflakes on the second one. Beautiful Ring-necked Duck and sweet pose on the ice.:)

Thanks everyone! I'm happy that you like my 2 duck versions! I too like the natural looking border and simplicity of the first one and the snowflakes on the 2nd one.

Both versions look great, Judy, but I like the second one better. The textures and snowflakes are just beautiful. In the first version, I think it would look better if the head in the reflection wasn't so close to the edge of the border. Well done. :)

Judy, I like them both but think I like the 2nd one better. I think I'd like the upper left snowflake to be a little lighter - it seems to be a little overpowering compared to the rest of the image. Really cool images, both of them:)
