    Default Junco

The bottom part of the background is a snow covered lake and the top part is a cliff about 500 yards away.

A perfect photo with a super BG. Maybe a bit of pop?

As much as I respect Gus' work for me this "pops" little too much...

Steve, Somewhere in between for me on the two. I do like the sharp details and exposure looks excellent. Pleasing BG and perch. I do wish for a slight head turn towards us but the inquisitive pose sure makes up for it. Lovely work.:)

I agree with Denise on both counts. If this is a female junco she's naturally a little lighter gray so I'd go halfway between the two as well. I also think a head turn would make this stronger but there's nothing wrong with it as is. He's really focused in on something, isn't he? Very nice details for such a small subject.

Thanks for viewing and the comments. Gus, before posting it I had adjusted it very similar to what you have, but felt it was too much. I agree it could use a bit more pop.

Another vote for somewhere in between, Great pose, perch, BG and details.

I'd vote for something in between. The most important thing of course is that you have a delightfully good image to tweak.
