It's been colder than normal here recently and my ponds are starting to freeze over. The first ice that forms always looks pretty interesting.

Agree - Interesting patterns! I wouldn't have known it was ice crystals on a pond. Cool.

I really like this, and feel it is perfect in B&W. Razor sharp and great PP. I agree with Patti that the patterns are very interesting.

Hi Ken, I love these kinds of images. This one works very nicely as a B&W. Very nicely done!

Very cool Ken, I like the patterns and perfect b&w conversion. I would love to see this one colorized a nice blue... I hope Denise found some chocolate this afternoon. :D

Nicely seen and captured! I love how you find wonderful images in the ordinary.

I would like to see true whites in this image, and maybe some brightening up.

    Keep them coming!

    Thanks for the comments!

Paul, these are fairly big crystals so this was shot with my 100-400mm at 105mm. It hasn't been cropped at all.

Anita, it was cold and cloudy when I was working on this which put me in a dark mood which is why this edit ended up looking like it did.

Kerry, this sort of shot has a lot of potential for OOTB editing! I took a fair number of shots that morning and it was hard to choose which one to work on first. Maybe I'll colorize the next one I work on. :)

I completely understand. It has been cold, overcast and dreary here too.
