    Default Red-rumped Parrot

Red-rumped Parrot by tphrambaut, on Flickr

    7D, 500mm f4 +1.4 tc, 7.1 @ 1/800, -1/3, ISO 400. Tripod.

Taken from the road - overcast day, so -1/3.

All point AF just could not focus with all the the bits in this shot - it was jumping around everyware. I used centre only, focused on eye and then reframed. Lucky not too much movement.

Tom, Good thinking to lock the focus and recompose. I like the way you were able to get the head area free of the BG. I do wish those couple of flower heads were in focus but this is lovely as presented.

    Default Thanks

Thanks Denise, a bit tight, but from memory I was trying to crop out a very distracting something or other.

Got that focus on the head and reframe from reading Arthur Morris's stuff.

    best Tom
