Looks like a graceful flier. Nice wing position and good eye contact. With the exception of what's below the bird's feet, I like the included habitat. From a composition standpoint, I'd like a sliver of canvas on the top and right, and a bit more than that on the left.

Your point of sharpest focus appears to be the body and near wing. That's a big bird for f/5.6! You seem a little overexposed; I would have expected a little negative EC for a white bird against a dark BG. If you had shot -1/3 EC, you could have gone with f/7.1 and that may have brought the head into focus.

    Overall a nice flight image!

Nice capture and well done on the wing position.

I second the distraction of the item at the swan's feet, not sure what it could be.

    Always good advice from Doug.

A nice flight pose and I like the underwing detail. I "third" about the red distraction by the feet. I suppose it was a painted rock or something similar? I am sure it could be removed fairly easily. Is this much of a crop? What AF mode were you using, and where was the active focus point? I am wondering because of the point made by doug about the focus seeming to be on the near wing.

Not much to add after Doug's detailed comment. I do think that you captured a nice pose. Looking forward to more.:)

Doug pretty much covered everything, not that i would have seen all he saw. A nice flight pose and I like the habitat BG.

Well thanks all for the comments and critiques.

Shot with A1 Servo, single point aimed at head, but...:)
Firstly I made an error on the f value, it was in fact 6.3, so at least a small step to the good.:o

    went back to start

In ACR brought Exp to -0.33

Ran NR in PS5 and painted BIRD back with HB
Selectively sharpened bird only; recropped as suggested, darkened mid tones a little in levels
Oh and cloned out the ping thingy - I find the latter quite difficult so please let me know how I did

    I like this composition better.

Strangely, at least to me, the bird now seems to be even brighter. Where there was detail in the original there seems not to be now.

The cloning seems to have gone well, although you missed a little bit of the distracting element directly below the foot.

==== I think I will revisit when I have more time but you are correct, the wing body line is nowhere near as detailed, I need to check my notes as to original adjustments made; I went back to original master so I could crop and must have done something differently

    ===== oops!, rushing.:o
