Default Star Trails Over Park Avenue

So sleep is optional on a Roman trip, but I am too excited to sleep anyway! Made this image last night after shooting star points at Mesa Arch...Canon EOS 5D MKii, 17-40mm, tripod mounted with bubble level, ISO 100, f/4.0, 1 hour exposure held open with cable release while we snoozed in the car. Park Avenue was painted with a large flashlight by Roman, a much tougher task than one would think...It was then back to Mesa Arch for the sunrise glow...headed out again tonight for more stars. Stay tuned...

Hi Nick, Glad your having a great time which I can see by your images. Seems like the painting technique is working well with just enough light not to be overpowering. Also the hour exposure gave you a nice circular pattern. I like the fact you used Bishop's Hat as your anchor on the left. The image is a bit distorted but in this case it doesn't bother me due to the overall impact...

This is simply an amazing image!

Definitely gets the juices flowing to join Roman on one of these workshops.

How much port have you been drinking during the waiting hours?
    Cheers, Jay

I agree with all the comments, particularly Dave's. A very interesting and innovative take on a familiar and spectacular place, dare I say more inspiring than even the OTHER Park Avenue! Well done!
