It's gonna be a long winter if they're down to sticks! I like the two visible eyes. I would have preferred it if you had taken a few steps to your right to get on the sunny side of the bird. And I think the bird could stand a bit more sharpening.

May be due to 50% crop with 30D or not enough sharpening, but it is a little soft. Agree with Doug on the sun angle.
I do like the pose, the creamy background, and shallow depth of field. Look on the bird's face makes me laugh :) Agree that it could probably use a bit more sharpening. thanks Charles
