    Default Crossing chaos. Pt1

Chaos and madness on the Mara river, taken from the Northern Serengeti side.
The Croc in lower left is tracking a young Gnu just out of frame on the right.
Used a polariser on the 500 to cut down on the midday harsh lighting and water glare.

D3s 500VR + CP filter ISO400 f/5.6@1/640s cropped to pano, beanbag on rooftop, Oct 2010.

    C & C most welcome

    Marc,

The major problem I see is that the swimming Gnu are going away from you. The RHS is much better with them queing up, if you had more of this area and the leap I think it would be much better. I like the stork as well.

Must be quite a site to see in person. Ken has summed up my thoughts as well. I like the lower perspective that you have here, a wider lens may have been the ticket.

Looks like complete chaos! You can almost hear the splashing. Also like the one on the right in almost mid air.

I like this Marc, there is much to discover. The wilde in the middle looking towards you, the croc swimming in an ominous manner, the leaping wilde, the stork waiting, the splashing water and dusty background. Mayhem, but with lots of little cameos which has been achieved by your pov.

Marc - I agree this really shows the chaos of the scene and the impending interaction of all the species.

What an amazing site Marc. You have captured them in all sorts of postures. The croc really adds to the intensity, and I too like the stork.

A lot to look at and explore on this one but that's meant in a good way. Doesn't always have to be about techs, comp, etc. I like the stork seems to be standing as a crossing guard. Must be like the last day of school before summer vacation :).
