I added several different blurred layers to create more of a smokey look to this image. I also did a painting texture and moved around some pixels:) I know the color is way over the top but that was kind of the look I wanted.

Wow! Beautiful work, Denise! Very nice feel and texture. I love the layers, and the fiery colors are perfect! Only thing I might change would be the flying crane in the URC. I think I'd prefer it if it was darker or removed. Very well done! :)

Love it Denise! I really like the crane flying in from the upper right corner. Love the textures too.:)

Surreal intense color and it works beautifully with the swirling textures! I like the flying crane near the other cranes but not so sure about the single flying crane in the URC. Your creativity is amazing and inspiring.

Love the color Denise, along with the almost oil painting texture. Great rendition of a stunning scene that morning!

Super image Denise. I'm so glad you got to go to Bosque! Love the painterly look and the colors, of course...

Thank you all for the feedback. Christopher and Nancy addressed my concerns with the bird in the URC. I actually did it w/o the bird originally and then felt that there was too much negative space-I will wait to see if we get a "swing vote" on the bird:p Thanks again.

Fantastic! i love the colors! Warm and wonderful. They look fabulous on top of the original smoky look. Have mixed feelings about the bird in question. My first thought was that it was distracting, my second thought was that it added interest and caused my eye to move around. So, I'm not casting the deciding vote. Beautiful painterly look.

Anita, Thank you for your input. I am still undecided about the bird:)

This is beautiful Denise! I love the colors and all of the layers! The rolling texture adds motion as well as depth to my eye. As far as that URC bird, I like it there and feel that it does add balance to the composition. But I do agree that it should be darker. If the background behind it were the lighter color that is just in front of the bird, that would be the right contrast to make the bird more visible. Either lighter background right behind the bird or darker bird would be my vote.

:o Oh gosh. Thanks. I only wish my image was of this quality. I'm glad it inspired you though, because you took the idea and perfected it. I might have to make a few tweaks to try to emulate your results. :p

I love the fiery color and the texture really adds to it. I'm with those who think the bird should be removed :)

Denise, I love the image for all the reasons above and agree with Patti about either lightening the bg behind the bird but hey, I'd love to call it mine the way it is:)
