    After an unsuccessful trip to Lake Martin (hundreds of nesting egrets, all very far from the road) I visited two smaller rookeries in the area. The spoonbills are in full mating color at all three sites but none are nesting yet.

    A very pretty pose captured Gayle nice details and colors I would be tempted to clone out the branch coming out from the head.

    beautiful bird... great eye contact..find the BG a bit distracting..

    Excellent Gayle The birds looks just great Love the feather detail and colors Lots of these I see over done !!! The bg is what it is Could only hope

    No Spoons at Lake Martin? Sure hope they would come back !!!

    Love the great colors and details in the shot. I would second the suggestion about cloning out the branch.
