Far too much noise in this I am afraid, but it seems a good subject for a Monday morning.

Taken at Okaukuejo Waterhole, Etosha National Park, Namibia, 2nd September 2008.

Noise is not too bad IMO, but noticable. Nice subject indeed; like the look and the raised foot. At Halali you could sent to clock to these guys, they were there every evening at the same hour dominating thewaterhole.TFS.

Nice pose on the little guy. At this web size noise isn't a real issue. I like the raise foot and the dust he is creating adds to the image.

like the pose, dust and textures here Ken! believe it or not, I've yet to visit Etosha...

there's so little colour in this one I would be tempted to do something in monochrome here? I know you don't particularly like toying around with that medium ;)

High ISO not a problem at this size Ken, the dust and raised front foot enhancing well here.

Thanks to everybody for your comments and suggestions.

    Morkel,

I used to work solely in B& W in the mid 60's that is probably why I like colour and also digital, here is a surprise for you. I must confess to taking the easy way out and using Nik Silver Effex Pro, but then I have been using Nik for many a long year. I liked it darker.

Ken - I like the raised foot and dust too. I think I prefer the op with the slight pink of the skin tone coming through.

Like the raised foot and the dust below the elephant. Actually like the color version.

    Harshad, Rachel and Dan,

    Thanks,

I Suppose it comes as no surprise if I say I prefer the OP, I think the setting sun adds a nice tinge.
