    This image was created in October 2010 on the banks of the Okavango River , NW Botswana.
    Shot from a boat , hand held
    Canon Mk IV
    500mm f/4
    1/1600 Av
    f/5
    ISO 1000
    Exp Comp +1/3
    Metering :Evaluative
    Did some canvas extension at the top and some repairs to the primaries ,where they were slightly cut off.

    You really nailed the sharpness. Looks somewhat overexposed though. You could probably have dropped your ISO by 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop, not that it looks noisy. I see some light spots in between some of the primaries, and I'd like a little more room in front of the bird.

    Having never seen one of these in person, are they normally yellowish or is it the light?

    Lovely early light and stunning background. Sharpness is also impeccable. But the image is about 1/2 stop overexposed?

    I played around with the image a bit, hope you don't mind. Brought down the brightness, burned the light areas on the bird selectively and brought the blue sky out with Viveza.

    Thanks Doug ,for your comments . Noticed the spots between primaries.Very sloppy PP work ... :o
    Chris , also thanks for your comments ,suggestions and the adjustments . Due to the over exp etc . , I found it quite a difficult image to work on . Burning the light underwing coverts( which I did some of ) ,for example , gives a bit of an orange tinge .
    Your adjustments make a remarkable improvement.
