Would this image be a good candidate to improve using basic PS5? Where would I start? thanks, Ann
Hi Ann - nice shot of the ruddy turnstone. I think I might try cropping a bit from the right hand side and the bottom to move the bird out of the center of the frame. Overall the image looks a bit dark to me. Perhaps you could lighten things up a bit?
Ann, is this full-frame or close to it? If so then there is plenty of room to crop a pleasing comp (assuming the image is sharp and the details can hold). I do find it dark though...I'm sure 0 EC would have been OK here. I also would have waited for the turnstone to give you a better head angle as this one appears to be look away a bit. You have a very pleasing habitat setting...

Cropped to taste
Levels adjustment
Enhanced catclight via dodge tool
Dodged below the belly
patched some offending light spots
Nice improvements by Daniel and he's right - there's a lot of good stuff here to work with. A better HA would be a great start next time, though so wait for him to give you the evil eye!
