    Sage brush communities are vital winter habitat for mule deer. I needed to show mule deer in this habitat for my upcoming mule deer book. Found some winter ranges in Wyoming with big sagebrush to emphasize the relationship between mule deer and the sage...

    Love this one! It looks like you had harsh light to work with but handled well. Nice placement in frame and very nice buck!

    Actually late afternoon light about an hour before sunset. Our skies can be so clear and dry at high elevation you often don't get the real warm colors until the last half hour or so....

    When we visited West Cliff and Silver Cliff, these guy's were everywhere, like rabbits. Well composed and captured. Love the contrast and the few dark shadows.

    Nice looking buck. The starkness of the light and shadows goes well with the sparse environment.
