I am pretty confident this is a Warbler and I believe it to be a Pine Warbler, because, well he was in the Pines!
I cropped the image about 20 % because the angle from the ground to the the subject must have covered a vertical of at least 20-25 feet and I got a lot of sky. I cropped out the sky and brought the image forward without sacrificing too much detail.

    Critique as always; most welcomed!

Very neat photo, but the bird is a Yellow-rumped Warbler of the eastern "Myrtle" race. It's a shame the head isn't backed by sky, but maybe some of the PS experts here can tell you how to remove the plant.

Definitely a Yellow-rump (or "Yumper" or "Butter-butt" as known around here). Good work catching him in flight. I agree with Paul that it might be worth attempting some careful cloning to remove the RH foliage. Blue sky looks a little oversaturated to my eye.

Thank you for your suggestions. I was able to remove some of the foilage in PS (attached) and it makes a big difference!
    Thank you both so much.

his feet are gorgeous - and i love how the pose really shows off his yellow rump. it really looks even better with the leaves behind his head removed!

A cool shot and a good catch.

Also a good job on removal of the conflicting bg branches.

For a different composition you might try a crop from the left right down through the middle of the highest branch. Sort of to move the bird to the left and give more room to fly into.

Well done to catch up to the warbler.
