    40D. 400f5.6L at f/7.1. iso 320. 1/1250s. Late afternoon light. One of my favorite hens to shoot.

    another charming beauty KD. The dark patch front of the neck is bit distraction to me. rest the low angle makes this interesting.

    A case study on the benefits of a low angle . . . Without your low angle, you don't get what I presume to be land in the background, and without that yellow strip we don't know where the water ends. The photo now gives us some idea of the size of the body of water on which your wigeon was. Is it because I've been in China too long and have forgotten what a truly blue sky (and water) looks like, or is the blue in your shot a bit too vivid?

    Craig, blue might be a little bit more vivid than reality but not too much. North sky in the winter is quite blue. For this shot, I've set color sat to 2 during raw conversion....not too high.
