Another IR image that I had envisioned for Asian week. I used Nik>Neutral with Kodak ISO 32 film type, Topaz Adjust Mild Contrast, Fract. B&W, Find Edge, Old paper, and added a canvas texture. And thanks to Dan, I discovered much to my embarrassment that I had the ability to create a transparent layer and created the kanji which means "serenity or tranquility" and did not spend 30 minutes erasing:o I tried to lighten my chop a little also.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

Cheryl, You are rockin' this theme. I really like the combination of effects and that you have a very Asian look with the composition. Nicely done.

Very nice Cheryl! I like the monotone-black ink look! The chop/calligraphy are on the mark. Very creative overall! The only change I would make would be the texture. Chinese/Asian painting is typically done on rice paper, which is smooth and white. You could add color to the paper and texture-like treatments but I don't think the oil canvas would be a traditional treatment.

Very strong comp, Cheryl - is it leaning just a bit to the right? Might give it a tiny bit of CCW rotation to get the rocks at the base of the tree to be straight.

Very nice effect but the comp does it for me. :)

I absolutely love most everything about this one, especially the sketched look. I am usually not a big fan of textured stuff and the canvas BKGR would fit in that category. The image is superbly designed. I love the bushes and the rock wall at the bottom.
