This guy isn't true to its name by catching a toad!:p Good sighting, and quite a striking eye...did you lighten it in PS? It just seems like the face was a bit in shadow and the eye is rather bright?

I'm sure you cropped tightly to avoid other distractions, but I would still prefer a bit more room above and below. I like the perch (you could tone down a couple of the lighter spots on it) and I also like the surrounding vegetation. Body could use a touch more sharpening as posted.

    Neat stuff, thanks for posting!

What a bird. What a little head. What a huge yellow eye. Framing, EXP, head angle, and toad angle are all perfect. Either its plumage is quite worn or the other birds have been pooping on it....

I like the over the shoulder look back pose.

    What a bird indeed!

I have to agree that the eye looks remarkable. The framing is OK by me but I wonder if a little more on the RHS would improve?

Amazing looking creature! Suggestion of habitat is also enhancing the image for me.

Really like this bird! Captivating...great pose, the eye makes it pop and the frog makes this a winner for me, thanks for sharing!
