    One of our winter residents. Taken in Newport News, VA. Mid morning, overcast skies.
    Sony A700, 70-400G @400mm, manual f5.6, 1/250, iso800, tripod. PP in PSE8, levels, curves, usm
    I painted over some highlights in the water in front of the duck with a soft brush.
    The ducks body was sharpened slightly more that the head. I reduced the shadows around the eye. I know that the birds head is slightly turned away, but it does not bother me.

    Hi Peter,

    Well done, I too like the "earthy colors" in both the bird and the water, the crop is nice and works well with this image, I do agree that it looks just a tad bright on my monitor too.
