Welcome to New Mexico Troy! Hope you're having fun at the Bosque! Like the sharpness and the head peaking past the wing. I might reduce BG contrast and or blur the BG some. Check for a PM from me.

I just got back from bosque. I know exactly where you are and where you are standing. I had a hard time dealing with the background and was well aware of it. I often saw Arthur Morris shooting from the road position, but don't know what he was up to there because it seemed to me that vantage point would cause you to really have a cluttered background as well. I shot from the lowest point off the road and concentrated on birds that began their descent from higher up so that I could get a background that was more distant. It was dificult but I got a few that way that I liked. Also we had a good south wind that held the birds up in the air a bit longer. It was windy the whole time I was at bosque.

Troy, try to catch them while they are still above the corn not in front of it. This will give you a much better background. JR

Troy, Congrats on your first Snow Goose. Nice pose and sharpness. I agree w/ Doug regarding the BG. Nicely done.:)
