    Default Buddha at peace

This started out as an infrared image I took in the bamboo garden at Kanapaha Gardens. I used Nik Color>B&W>Tonal Enhancer, Diffuse Glow and Poster Edge. I added a texture from this website, added my chop and kanji and a little frame. I'm afraid the slight texture detracts from the image but I thought it was too plain without something to fill the empty space to the right of the Buddha.
Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.:)

Fantastic look Cheryl, I wouldn't change a thing. I really like the B&W and the comp. The chop is lovely. I do see a straight line under and above the lettering that I would clean up. Very nicely done.:)

Denise, thanks! I had been painting the kanji on a plain white layer and then trying to erase it to reveal the bg but on the way home from work I realized that the smart thing to do is select the area I was going to put the kanji on and make it the new layer, paint on it and then add it to the image. That's what I did, but decided to crop tighter and when I redid it I didn't line it up correctly. I'll correct it and repost later. I'm glad you like it.:)

I love this one! The photo is so perfect for the theme to start with and then the filters add so much interest! Fantastic!

I didn't notice the lines until Denise mentioned them and I had to really look to see them. If you have it on a separate layer and the background is white, you could try changing the blend mode of that layer to darken and then only the characters should show. I think...?

Cheryl, Can you just make a brush pre-set of the Kanji?:)

Hi Cheryl, very nice work on this one. I like the look and subject a lot. The ever-so-tiny frame is fabulous, and I don't use that word a lot...:cool: I personally prefer a more transparent chop, given that the real thing is a stamp carved from stone. I like to see it with a transparent background instead of white, but let's see what others say.

Very nice, once again Cheryl! All of the pieces this time around are great! As for your calligraphy, I would produce a brush pre-set and then place the calligraphy on an invisible layer, this way, you don't have to erase anything. Also, I would like to see a little brighter red on the chop, as is, it almost looks black on my screen. Great stuff!

    Cheryl,

It's a beauty. Your use of filters makes this look so realistic. Great adaption to the theme. It's fabulous.

I've removed the lines on the bottom and replaced the chop with a little brighter one. Hope it helps:)
