    Wow!! great sharp image!
    agree with cropping a bit from the bottom, might also try toning down the bright areas, especially the perch and legs.

    Joel, this is a real beauty! Wonderful pose and good DOF here. I especially love how much the eye really pops. I do find him to be a bit too centered in the frame. I like that you went vertical but when I recropped to a horizontal and moved his eye to the ROT's grid point I thought it was a much stronger composition. I also thought the bird looked just a tad overexposed so I hit the 'auto' curves adjustment button and it brought the blacks down a bit, giving them a bit more substance. See what you think...

    Thanks to all for comments and critiques,

    I like the repost Julie, I was struggling a bit trying to avoid a square crop and trying to give the bird space to the left because he is facing that way, I like your solution....thanks for helping out.

    The bird looks great, even better in re-post. Fantastic BG. I'm not a fan of square crops, but in this case I think it works better.
