    This lady is working on a Coot, fairly close to a road. I did not see the kill, so not absolutely sure if it was a "bait" or not. Eventually, she carried the bird to a point further away and less visible.

    She certainly looks serious, I love the feather hanging out of her beak. I think she might be a red-shouldered hawk though. Good image, good work.

    I have a number of other shots of her, some of which clearly display the white band across her tail. I wish she was a red-shoulder. That would have caused quite a stir here in northern Utah. We have only had one RS confirmed this winter. Thanks for your nice comments.

    You captured a great expression on her. The feathers laying around the scene add to the drama of the picture.
