I really wanted to get some frame filling 'lift-off from the water' shots of the sandhills, but this year there did not seem to be any such opportunity. The birds were always to far back. I settled for a 'landing on the water' shot instead.

Sharp with a good exposure. With so much vegetation, a crop from the bottom would help. And losing the single bluish-white circle half way down from the bird's neck to the bottom of the frame edge would also be an option.

Well exposed and sharp. Nice wing spread, angle in frame.
Nice sense of the environment.
I might consider toning down the white spot to the right of his feet.
I know this is full frame, so not an option, but in a perfect world, would like just a bit more space below because of his direction of flight.
Hope you share more from Bosque.
Cheers

Chris -Artie and I were typing at the same time, so sorry about repeating the spot comment.

Nice pose and habitat. I like the comp as is, and I agree with removing the spot that both Randy and Artie described in different ways:). I'm wondering if a slight boost in saturation (or vibrance) would be good here?
Sharpness looks good, but overall saturation could use a boost. Good eye contact. Agree with the others about removing the white spot. Wish the head wasn't merging with the far wing.
