    Default reflection

There is not room for two of us in this town by tphrambaut, on Flickr

    Eos 7D, 500mm f4 @ 5.6, 400 Iso & 1/125. Tripod.

I had had a rather non-productive morning, it was overcast and I was going to pack up a go home - This White-browed Scrub Wren just popped up near this small pool of water. I was sitting next to my rig slowly got up and fired off a couple of shots.

    This is the result.

Very nice - these little guys are quite a challenge. I love your title. The expression and detail are fabulous, it would have been perfect if you had been able to move a little to the right so that the rock didn't block part of the reflection.

Great to see this species Tom. You can post up to 800 pixels tall on BPN- would be nice to see a bigger version of the image. Great reflection. I would crop some off the bottom- ask yourself what that bit of OOF green is adding to the image. I would also tone down the pink and light grey patches in the BG.

    Default Thanks

    Hi folks,

a bit could come off the bottom now I look at it - something I should have done in the first place.

That bit of green is a piece of plant or something - I will try to take it out.

Great little species - lots of character and they do not sit still. I think I did try to move the rig after taking this shot but that flushed the bird.

    Thanks again.

What a cutie he is! I agree with the other's comments but would add that there are several places in the water that could be cleaned up as well. If you see a tiny white spot on the surface, give it a quick clone and see what you think when the small distractions are all out of the way. Love the reflection!

Default how much is too much

While I agree with the spot removal business I do find myself reluctant to alter an image too much.

I have however found the clone tool a great thing to get rid of some distracting things like a piece of branch that is coming out of the top of a birds head that is set against a blue sky.

How much is too much manipulation?

    Any thought on this?
