    Default Royal Tern Squabble

This shot was taken lying low in wet sand with temperature of around 40F. I believe the effort paid off well as the sun got low in the sky and these guys started squabbling.
    C & C welcome.

Your exposure and low angle put this shot in the "high quality" category. I'm still meditating on your crop, though . . . perhaps I see your point.

Craig, thanks for the compliment. I did not like the shot when I first saw it but it grew on me. I was too close to cover both of them completely so had to compose it this way or I would have lost the shot. There is no crop in the image except for a slight rotation to level the horizon.

A fun shot in the best of light. I have to admit that I'd like it better if the right bird had been captured but I'm glad I took a look at this one for sure. The image appears to need some leveling in the counterclockwise direction. Thanks.

Bhushan, Nice low angle, great interaction and lovely warm light captured.
Would have loved to see more of the bird on the right, but do like it as presented. Another vote for some CCW rotation. Nice work.

Great light and interaction and I agree with it needing ccw rotation; have you thought about taking some off the top? just enough to eliminate the top brown line. To me, that really puts the focus on the interaction. I really like this one.

nice interaction and low angle. But I'd really prefer to see more of the right bird. At least that one can see its legs... JR

What you've got going in this image are the interaction, low angle, and the beautiful light. It does need some CCW rotation, and I too would prefer to see more of the right bird - the leg merge on the edge of the frame is not ideal.

Thanks a lot everyone for looking and all the suggestions. I first thought the image was leveled based on my memory that the bird where in a lightly different plane and I was shooting at an angle.I would have loved to have some more of the bird on the right side but this was the only shot I got with this action. :o
