Cute pose, it really looks like he's protecting the catch. Compositionally I don't like having more room behind than in front.

Nice timing on the capture. Looks like he's giving that fish a nice, big hug. I see Jeff's point on the composition but personally think that the fish looking forward and the bear just slightly backwards calls for a centered comp.

Good to see this young cub is learning quickly, quite often they have no idea on what to do and wait for mum, trust he enjoyed his prize Todd. Looks like light was not on your side based on the techs so you have done well with the image. Not sure how much space you have around the cub, but might want to see if you can place it slightly off centre perhaps, I assume you were shooting from the bank of the river, Alaska?

All nits aside, what a fine moment you have captured here Todd, love the possessive nature of this little cub.

Priceless expression....just a tad sharp on the fur for me. Nevertheless, beautiful moment captured...it's so much fun to watch these guys fish!!

The little guy sure is holding on to his catch. Those paws are pretty large for a cub. Good that we can see the eye of the fish, and good eye contact from the cub too.

I like this photo for what it tells us about bear behaviour. Nicely captured with the fish, showing just how large they are compared to the bear. You've captured the colouring of the fish and the startled eye very well.

    Todd,

I meant to comment yesterday but forgot. Great capture, great detail and very interesting subject, judging by the size of the Salmon the cub is not going to go hungry.

Nicely handled tough light, and you just have to love the moment captured- big salmon, little bear.
