    Default Cormorant

Cormorants are known to be domesticated by fisherman in China/Japan and often used as a subject in paintings. Here is my interpretation of an Eastern painting... cropped, replaced bg color, applied Topaz simplify, used mask to get the face back, reduced saturation, applied chop and thin border for the final web version. Hope you like it...

Hi Indranil, I like what you have done with this one. Looks quite nice. I think I would add a touch of canvas to the left side though. Looks a smidge tight on that side to me. Well done!

Indranil, Andrew makes a good suggestion regarding a bit more room. I do like the water colored look and the vertical framing that leaves room for the writing and chop. The chop seems a little light but we'll have to wait and see what Dan says.

Indranil, I love this one! The reflection really appeals to me as well as the overall composition. I like that you painted back the face after the Topaz work. Looks great!

Indranil, I love the water color look and the vertical composition. I think cormorants are a perfect subject for this theme:)

Indranil, Love the treatment and vertical crop on this one. It has a very serene feel. I agree on the left side and bottom being just a tad tight.

Great pose on the bird. Beautiful perch on the outcrop of rocks. I totally agree on the painterly feel to this...........

Indranil,I feel you captured the look with the painterly effect and your use of neg space fits the image type. As stated a bit more room on the left would help....good one..

I also like the vertical comp and feel of this. It looks very much like an oriental painting. I also like the repost more.

Lovely! The subject matter and post processing give this an Asiatic feel. Very nicely done. I think I prefer the OP.

Really nice Indranil! I like the repost with more room on the left. I think a little less room on top and a little more room on the bottom would be an improvement. I also would reduce the size of the chop as it is overpowering the bird a bit. Good stuff!!
