    This is what wakes us up most mornings with a "noise" slightly nicer than an Egyptian Goose:)

    Taken whilst ridding our "lawn" of insects.

    Taken yesterday in our back garden.

    EOS 1D MkIV

    500mm F4 IS hand held

    F 5.6, ISO 800, 1/500, EV +0.33

    Should have gone higher than 5.6 but also trying to get Pin Tailed Whydah

    Plenty of DOF IMO. Nice eye contact, and I like the raised red foot. Sharpness is excellent. I'm surprised you could only manage 1/500 at ISO 800 as it looks like you had plenty of light.

    Nice low angle Ken with good detail and sharpness. These guys have a lot more colour than is first apparent but must say I have never noticed the red feet before.

    Ken, I also think DOF is good enough. Liked the pose and the angle of the bird. Very interesting looking Ibis.

    I think the blacks can go darker. If mine, I'd crop a bit from the top.

    That was a typo it was in fact 1/5000
