From my last day at Bosque, doing blurs. this started out as a zoom blur and the original looked like the birds were flying into a central point so I decided to exaggerate the concept by using the twirl filter

Very cool effect. love the wave-like swirl. It really appears that flock is entering a vertex. Well done...........

Ditto what Jay said! Very cool! I love that beautiful color in the sky. Way to think OOTB.

Interesing concept here, Myer! I do think if we could make out the birds a little bit better it would be an even stronger image but as is the colors give it a lot of bang for the buck.

the orginal image image defined the birds in the center of the vortex better, however adding the twist stretch them out. I will have to try to select the center and protect it and then twirls the periphery and see how it looks.

Excellent concept, Myer. I think the combination of the brilliant sky color and the twirl makes it works well... very ethereal. TFS.

Myer, I like this as is and I like it a lot! I think everyone who goes to Bosque has a collection of "last shots". It is so hard to leave there... Love the colors and the blur and the vortex looks like a great disturbance in The Force. Very cool!

Myer, Awesome OOTB thinking! You tried something new and it works. I agree that a little more detail in a few of the birds would be nice but WOW the color rocks!!:)

    Hey Myer,
I'm ok with the birds but it would be interesting to see the one with more detail. The colors are great but I would recommend croping the cloud at the top out. for me this emphasizes the swirls more. Just something for you to explore but way to think OOTB abd the impact of this is undenyable......Very nicely done!

Very creative concept, Myer! Great colors and I love the swirling sky. I agree with the above comments that a little more detail in some of the birds might be good. Well done!

What a great idea! The placement of the birds in the intense colors of the swirls is perfect. And as everyone has commented, those colors are indeed intense!

I like the repost! Very nicely done...it almost looks like you can see the wind current they are riding in on!
