Default Oak Leaf and Pine Needles on Water

    Attached Images Attached Images

Horizontal to vertical crop. Leaf clean up, some cloning of distracting pine needles. Background altered with NIK galmor glow at "multiply" blending mode (which doesn't diffuse)
but adds intense color contrast. Overall light and color balancing for effect.

Jay, You have this down! I love the color tones and the glow on the pine needles. And I don't know why, but for some reason, that leaf reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle piece. :)

Patti, it's all the little nooks and crannies! It does look like a puzzle piece!

I agree - there's no way to make this better than it is. Color is perfect, BG is lovely, comp is right on. Another winner, Jay!

Jay, I'm really enjoying your work - very nice! I love the colors and contrast and great detail on the leaf. Is that a Pin Oak?

Thank you everyone for the nice comments...........

    Kerry,

Yes, according to what I've been reading this looks like a Pin Oak leaf.

    "Leaf Characteristics"
    • broad, flat
    • simple
    • pinnately lobed
    • bristle tips
    • deeply lobed
    • middle lobe not narrow
    • leaves small, 3" to 5" long
    • side lobes not broad toward tips

Jay, Very nice work. I like the lighting and the slight softness. I'm usually not a fan of square crops but this works very well here.:)

    Hey Jay,
Debating more room on bottom for stem.....but love the colors and overall feel.....so not sure that it would add anything to the image overall. Something to explore but very well done overall!
