    Default Testing BG" House Finch (M)

    Hi Folks;

    Going away for a few days, so thought I would try a couple of background.

    First one was blurred by going High Pass 10. Ctrl+I to Invert, Press E (Eraser)
    and erased blur on House Finch

    Second one I greated new same size as photo with gradient, V(Move) moved original over gradient & with E (Eraser) & Background eraser exposed BG behind House Finch.

    Comments & Redo's always welcome and appreciated

    Hi Gus,

    I like the first one better...looks more natural

    If you enlarge more and work on the masking/edges more meticulously to get rid of the halo I think you'll have it

    Gus, they're both beautiful but I do see a halo around different areas in each image. A bit more clean up would help and then I think you'll have two strong images.

    I like the smooth gradient in the second bg but prefer the nice green/brown and mottled tones in the first.

    Good suggestion by Joel on the edges.

    Gus, I like the first one as well. The green and brown tones compliment the Finch. The solid blue would work for a lot of birds as well, but I'd tone down the blue a touch so it is a soft background. Nice work.

    Gus, I like the second one, the first one has a halo as Jules pointed out. Nice pose and details.
