We had planned this trip to Big Bend for almost 2 years. Got to Rio Grande Village early on Friday morning hoping to see the bobcat, which we did and also found a birder who had driven in to try to see the tufted flycatcher reported. Got pictures on Friday and again this morning. This was from Friday. Cropped and cloned out a few branches in CS4. D700 with 500 f/4 plus Kenko pro 300 TC. ISO 400, f/7.1 1/250.

Mack, Congratulations on capturing this extreme (?) rarity!
I imagine this bird must have caused quite a stir at texbirds?

To the techs. IQ seems to have suffered a bit. Was this a big crop?
    Is it motion blur?
Pushing the iso and using a bigger aperture may have gained you more SS in that case.
    Hand held or tripod?

Hope to make it to big bend some day. Congrats again on this rare find.
