I like the lighting how it shines through the fanned tail and the pose captured also those
talons.... I hope you like it. I cloned out a fence post.:)

Jim, I love that fanned tail and the stretched wings with the light filtering through them and those talons are awesome too. Fantastic composition and perfect HA too. Superb work, as usual.

Great pose Jim! A backlit shot doesn't get much better than that.

Love the backlighting and exposure here. What really makes it all work is the fact that the hawk is angled just below, and parallel to, the sloping tree line, allowing the backlit effect to stand out. Very nicely done.

Hi Jim. Fanned tail and spread wings make this a winner, with great head angle. Nicely captured.

James, yes, the light shining through the fanned tail is very nice. And perfect HA. Very well done. These are hard to expose and process.

Hi James superb backlight image, love the filtered light shining through the feathers and rim of light around the wing and tail edges. Pose is awesome with the uptuned primaries and eye contact. Don't know how you managed the detail with the strong backlighting , well done !

    Hey Jim,

A unique image even for your portfolio, which has it all. Everything has been said but I wanted to let you know how much I love the talons on this one......priceless!

James, I love the light through the fanned tail too. The talons look awesome and I love the curled up wing tips.
