    Default PC or Mac

It is time for an computor upgrade, so do you recommend a PC or Mac? It seems like digital basic training is designed for PC only. Thanks for your imput!

Jeez Bruce! You might as well ask for a recommendation to go either Canon or Nikon!

For what it's worth I use a PC these days - I haven't owned a Mac for 10-years so I am really in no position to make an informed recommendation one way or the other...

i switched from a pc to a mac a few years back and don't regret it.. it really boils down to what will you like.. i use adobe cs master suite and lightroom 3 .. i do quite a bit with timelapse photography and video on a dual quad mac pro with dual 27" monitor. other specs are 32GB of memory and 8TB of disk space..

What made the transition easy for was using linux/unix systems at work but the mac has a good visual user interface. I still do a lot from the command line and this system interfaces well with those at work.

I would suggest trying out a mac seeing if it will meet your needs, if not there is nothing wrong with a pc.. the goal is to have the tools that work the best for you.

I use both, a PC at home and a macbook pro on the road, plus my wife has a mac mini. If you have a lot of money invested in software for the PC you will have to replace it all for the mac, something to consider. Upgrades are easier and less expensive for the PC as well.

I switched to Mac about 4 years ago, and have never once regretted it. Some software may be expensive to replace but my most expensive apps are Photoshop and Lightroom. Lightroom comes with both the PC and Mac versions on a single disc (no cost to upgrade), and Adobe will mail you the Mac version of Photoshop if you deactivate your PC version and sign a form promising to not use the PC version anymore. All you pay is $5 or $10 for shipping.
